Women to Learn Self-Reliance--Outdoors
December 11 - 12
Outdoor ESCAPES New Hampshire, LLC is
offering an opportunity for women to get a head start on winter by participating
in a two-day outdoor adventure starting on Saturday, December 11. Winter
backcountry basics will be explored on a section of the Appalachian Trail in
Shelburne, New Hampshire. On-the-trail topics will include survival tools and
skills, outdoor cooking, and low-impact camping practices.
This experience will provide women from
all walks of life to get away from their everyday schedule and to take time for
themselves.
Learning
outdoor life skills and getting
‘back’ to nature is important to the overall health of mothers, students,
caregivers, professionals, even grandmothers. Guide Lucie LaPlante Villeneuve Villeneuve says, “A
wilderness trip is invigorating. Women go back to work and home with a clear
mind, having had time to unwind, relax, and think about what’s really important
in their lives.”
This hike is for women ages 16
and up and is at an easy pace. The price for the two-day hike is $125 per person
and includes guide, instruction, four meals, and camping gear. After
registering, participants will receive directions and a list of things to bring
and wear. To register and for more information about this and other outdoor
adventures, call 603-528-0136, or visit
